well... I feel like this is my art of the day! I built it out of dollar store materials and I'm awfully proud of it, I even colour coded the shirts. I discovered that I only wear black pink and blue. So much more oddly limited than I ever realized.

I forgot that I did this! In 2004 I was in a band called the Don't Be Shys, and I made a comic out of our lyrics to give out to the audience. Rad! Ah moving to new houses, finding old things.

so here we go! The big day. They showed their art at our art and design college. They all broke my heart. Jonathan had made a comic about his enemy Jacob, who once upon a time, used to be his friend.

The parents were surprisingly unimpressed! "This isn't cartooning is it" one of the dads actually snapped. I think it was The Honesty - he couldn't face it.

oh these precious drawing pens that changed my life. I covet them, I save up money to buy them, I put them in special drawers. It may not have been wise to distribute them to 8-year olds... I found them scattered recklessly. Recklessly!

Lately I've been drawling less and nerdily absorbed with garage band, which is an amazing way to make an extreme amateur sound a little finished. I figure that counts as new art every day, so I wanted to find a way to upload this cheesy Royksopp cover, but apparently it has to be attached to a movie. So this is an extremely random collection of videos from my bedroom and the sister spit tour van. It doesn't have a narrative, but let's see, maybe it could be about anticipating the tour, and being a workaholic, and then once I was on tour, being surprisingly homesick.

where's omar?

This is a totally inspiring public art project. Omar Khadr from Toronto, has been held in American custody in Guantanamo Bay since he was 15 for alleged war crimes. Only now, at age 23, is he facing trial, and authorities have decided to admit confessions that he made as a 15-year-old, allegedly under threats of torture and rape.

These cut-outs use the haunting photos of him as a 15-year old taken into custody. Where's Omar? Why isn't there more press about him? When will he be treated fairly? Where did his life go? When will he be free?
